Permissions

Users need Billing permissions to adjust the payment responsibility. 

Before You Begin

This action is usually done after an insurance payment has been applied to the invoice or the claim amount has been sent to the payer, processed, and applied to the client's deductible. 

There are cases where you'll need to change it from client to Insurance but this is rare. The steps for that are located further down in the article. 

Change Responsibility From Insurance to Client

  1. Navigate to the client's Ledger.
  2. Find the desired invoice that needs to be adjusted and click Select an Action.
  3. From the dropdown menu click View Details. 
  4. In the column, Ins Amt Due enter 0.00. You'll see the balance transfer to the column of Client Amt Due.
  5. Click Save. 
  6. You can now print or email the invoice for the client. 

Change Responsibility From Client to Insurance

  1. Navigate to the client's Ledger.
  2. Find the desired invoice that needs to be adjusted and click Select an Action.
  3. From the dropdown menu click View Details. 
  4. In the column, Client Amt Due enter 0.00. You'll see the balance transfer to the column of Ins Amt Due.
  5. Click Save.
